In case you have a special connection or relationship with any member of the public living in Saigon, you can enroll yourself for NHA Quen Trung. This course aims at preparing you to work in the community as an orphanage nurse. You will be taught about social inclusion, basic human rights, family care and health care among others. The selection process may also include tutoring and caring for the mentally disabled children or elderly in the orphanage.

Nurses who successfully complete the NHA course receive a Diploma in Social Indicators and Health. It can be used to obtain a higher education or applied to a better job position in the institution. NHA-qualified nurses may also choose to pursue a Master's in Health and Social Indicators. There is no specific course requirement for the Masters level, but you will most likely have to conduct some related internships and coursework before you are eligible to sit for the Masters program.

The NHA course also covers topics including family policy and general health care policy, nutrition treatment, tuberculosis management, substance abuse prevention, women in the workplace, childcare, gender discrimination as well as workplace safety and health promotion. This is followed by the introduction of the NHA statutes, legislative requirements, and their interpretation. The National Health Services Constitution and Development Policy are highlighted. The final section of NHA’s course focuses on the NHA’s principles and purposes. This final section is also known under the trungcap ys I (truchealth and social programs & policies).

The NHA curriculum requires that students learn about the concepts of huai and maluang (water), spirit energy, manong (spiritual), and neem. They also learn about concepts such as tuan (compassionate lifestyle), kudakuda (“open mind, honesty”), kudalun (“open heart”), and silat (“cooperation”). The course includes lectures, worksheets, discussions, and a mini-internship at a healthcare center. After completing the course, students will receive a certificate number. Students will need their completed NHA application and the fee to be submitted to the local disability centre.
